“Bananinha” is part of a series of paintings started in 2020, built from Galvão's observation of nature, landscape and her research in biology, anatomy and science fiction. This series stems from imaginary universes and realities based on the notion of ecosystems, in which sets of living organisms interact with each other forming a viable system of existence. The palette, gestures, shapes and stains are constructed and organised through the study of nature’s elements. Each of these paintings is part of a pictorial vocabulary that is being built. Gestures that are performed in one painting are reproduced in other works, as part of a system of meanings. The series becomes some sort of pictorial biome, composed of the possibilities that painting offers as a language to build a new place/landscape.
