You should not look at the sun - In Lami's work, metaphors and symbolism draw stories behind each element. This painting takes its name from David Hockney's digital painting 'Remember you cannot look at the sun or death for very long'. The sun has always been considered a symbol of life, strength, energy and positivity, across all times and beliefs. The eye represents the one who looks and the one who is looked at. We often cannot escape the desire to look. Either it is someone we are attracted to, or simply to stare directly at the sun, even if we know that this may have consequences. Curiosity will never let us stop looking for the unknown.
