Hugo Lami's diptych was inspired by the landscapes of Nicolas Party. There is something orderly and peaceful about the serenity the painter ascribes to his landscapes, as if nature was never meant to be anything else. By taking inspiration from Party's colour scheme, Lami created his own fictional nature. The diptych penetrates the artist's fiction even further by interpreting the urban landscape as part of nature as well. Our influence on the world is so great that it cannot be denied that we have changed the nature in which we live. This work shows how the world can take very different forms when seen through different eyes. What is real, what is false?
